The Project:

DAZN is using Bee-On is at the centre of the video streaming service’s innovative never-before-seen vertical social wall, powering real-time social & data curation with integrated HTML graphic overlays for the German channel too.

The Challenge:

After securing rights for both the German and Italian league coverage, and kick-off of the 2021/2022 season just round the corner, DAZN were looking to captivate fans for their respective league shows, with a highly innovative offering featuring live audience generated content.

Production:

DAZN are using cloud-based platform Bee-On, to enrich the experience of their live magazine shows, featuring dynamic graphics and real-time data, including audience reaction and live stats delivered on an innovative in-studio display. Bee-On powers content curation for DAZN Italia and DAZN Germany, to enhance interactive offering with dynamic HTML graphics and audience generated reaction

As a cloud-based platform, Bee-On seamlessly integrates into the virtual workflow, where producers source, moderate, edit, and publish real time content – including comments, images and videos – captured from multiple social platforms. The sourced social is then queued and added to the branded HTML-graphics, created by Never.no’s creative services team, and published as overlays for the Bundesliga studio or within the scrolling display for DAZN Italia’s studio display.

In a first of its kind, DAZN Italia have created a bespoke 11-metre, 270-degree in-studio LCD display, with rolling content sourced and curated by Never.no’s Bee-On platform. The in-studio display operates as a 3-plane ticker, running in a collection of LED panels across the floor, wall and ceiling of the studio. The total size of the display is 14 square meters, with 4k output from Bee-On cut and assigned to each of the different elements to provide a high-definition, best in class studio experience. A secondary output from Bee-On allows the DAZN team to hero content that is then displayed in a separate 5-square-metre display.

Bee-On has access to a world of user generated content through social media platforms, messaging and integrated third-party data sources. For any live feed or broadcast, users can create trusted search lists to follow journalists or influencers on social, and easily publish live-to-air in real time. DAZN producers also search for keywords or hashtags related to a particular incident or match, and moderate topical reactions for inclusion in the flowing content stream on display.
