Never.no talks remote production with Grabyo at CogX

June 24, 2020

As part of our partnership with Grabyo, our CEO Scott Davies was invited to join one of CogX’s panel events to share his insights on innovations in the video production space and the dramatic shift to remote working.

Watch the full video as Scott joins Grabyo CEO Gareth Capon, to explore the new opportunities for content providers brought about by the pandemic. They also investigate the way sports are using the latest technologies to adapt to the new normal, and how media producers can keep their audiences engaged.

“We’re seeing huge success from content providers getting their audience to engage with their show – they’ve been able to extend their reach on to different platforms they didn’t use before.” Scott Davies, CEO Never.no

CogX is a global leadership summit hosted annually with this year’s event being run virtually, focusing on AI and emerging technology, boasting a range of speakers from a range of industries. With the situation that we find ourselves in now, remote production was a key topic for broadcasters and content providers who have been forced to pause their usual programming.

This shift has rapidly sped up the adoption of cloud-based solutions as producers scramble to find the best options to continue a captivating experience for the audience. Scott and Gareth share their expertise on remote workflows and how it’s still possible to deliver an entertaining and interactive program, without sacrificing quality.

“In terms of events and content they watch, audiences want to be able to experience what is happening, when it happens and will sacrifice the traditional modes of entertainment. We’re seeing new ways that audiences are consuming content.” Gareth Capon, CEO Grabyo

Cloud-based solutions allow production teams to collaborate at any time, anywhere in the world. All that is required is a laptop, internet connection, and the software.

With sports such as football and the NBA returning, remote production is becoming a necessity and the norm as the content evolves to suit the situation – both Broadcasters and OTTs are creating more immersive programming to keep fans engaged, even with the lack of a live audience in stadiums.

With Manchester City and Leicester City doing exactly that!

Not just champions on the pitch, senior producers for their respective digital channels LCFC TV and MCFC TV lead fan engagement by utilising Never.no’s cloud-based Bee-On platform to moderate and deliver audience generated content into their live match day programming.

Streamed across a range of social channels and member’s platform, the guests and host discussed the hot topics and analysis, with social media comments and images driving the conversation.

LCFC took full advantage of Bee-On’s Real Time Graphics capabilities, working closely with Never.no’s creative team to design captivating broadcast-standard cloud-graphics, published live via Bee-On.
