#LoveAustralia Live Polling Project with Grabyo (AU)
The Project
Remotely produced multi-platform programming delivered down under for Network 10 with Grabyo.
Cloud-based video production specialists Grabyo teamed-up with Never.no to deliver an engaging stay-at-home experience for Network 10’s #LoveAustralia Project. In association with Tourism Australia, the free-to-air broadcaster simulcast via Channel 10 and Facebook Live to celebrate viewer’s favourite Australian landmarks and culture during the Covid-19 pandemic. Delivered and produced remotely, Bee-On moderated audience votes via our Live Polling Platform and powered conversation, all published live during the ad breaks on Network 10.
The Challenge
To comply with advertising regulations, Network 10 needed to replace the show’s live TV ad breaks with bespoke content for the stream on Facebook Live. The network took this opportunity to encourage active participation from the audience and extend the content beyond standard programming. Using our Live polling platform even with the global pandemic still taking hold of productions and tight isolation regulations still place, Network 10 needed the use of cloud-based solutions that would integrate into production workflows and deliver the stream live on social and boost the interactive element of the special show.

How we did it:
Network 10 used our audience engagement platform Bee-On, integrated into Grabyo’s cloud-based solution to power and moderate live polls during the ads and deliver straight into the Facebook Live stream, in real-time. The entire broadcast was delivered by one main producer, using just a web browser on a laptop, the producer was able to work completely remotely, with every element of the broadcast managed using Grabyo’s live streaming platform
We were on-hand to support their team of social producers, who had trained and rehearsed with the team prior to the live programming. Using our Voting and Polling management capabilities, Bee-On was able to collate audience votes via Facebook comments, to aggregate and deliver the live results throughout the course of the multi-platform programming – all managed from a web browser.
The Results
During a challenging time, Network 10 aimed to raise the mood and create new content that would celebrate the country and add value for its sponsor partner Tourism Australia. Creating a captivating experience for Australian audiences and streaming via social, the interactive elements of the programme extended the content beyond traditional linear broadcasting. Network 10 was able to create a more communal viewing experience, sparking discussion, and driving longer watch times and higher engagement.
